This article describes an update to the platform's identity verification process, which now includes automatic correction of user-entered data.
Previous Process:
- The system verified user-provided names and dates of birth against submitted identification documents.
- Mismatches between user input and ID details resulted in profile rejection and required resubmission.
Updated Process:
- Upon user submission of personal details (e.g., name, date of birth) and an identification document, the system compares the entered data with information extracted from the ID.
- If discrepancies are found, the system automatically corrects the user-submitted information to match the ID. This correction occurs after submission.
- Users cannot directly edit their verification information post-submission. Changes from users necessitate a process reset. This involves re-checking and correcting the data before proceeding with reverification.
- The corrected data is displayed in the user’s profile and used for active verification checks (AML and Proof of Address checks), while the original user-provided information is retained and accessible within the history of each attribute.
Key Benefits:
- Reduced Correction Needs: Users are less likely to have submissions rejected due to input errors, saving time and effort.
- Increased Data Reliability: Direct comparison and alignment with official IDs create a more trustworthy record for critical checks.
- Faster Verification: Automated correction of data mismatches streamlines the verification process.
This update aims to improve the security and user-friendliness of the verification process, leading to more reliable data for essential compliance checks.
