This article provides information about Blockpass's Advanced Data Encryption feature. This feature is designed for Enterprise customers and enhances the security of your sensitive data in compliance with GDPR and ISO27001 standards.

How the Advanced Data Encryption Works

The Advanced Data Encryption feature allows you to encrypt your data with a customer-owned key for enhanced security.

  1. Generate an Encryption Key: You generate an encrypted public key and share it with Blockpass.
  2. Secure Data Backup: Blockpass uses your public key to encrypt and back up your data.
  3. Archiving: Blockpass archives all KYC profiles in your dashboard.
  4. Accessing Your Data: To access archived data, download the encrypted backup from the KYC profile and decrypt it using your private key.

Detailed instructions are available in our technical document: Data encryption with customer-owned keys

Security Enhancements

Blockpass does not retain the ability to decrypt any backups. Only you have access to your encrypted data using your private key.

FAQs

  • Can Blockpass see the backed-up data? No, the data is encrypted with your public key, and Blockpass cannot access it.
  • How does this affect AML Ongoing Monitoring? Ongoing Monitoring is unaffected as the monitoring data is stored separately.
  • Can I retrieve all profiles at once? No, you must download each archived profile individually from the KYC Dashboard.
  • What if I lose my private key? Blockpass cannot assist in this case. We recommend creating a separate backup of your KYC Dashboard data.
