Blockpass Envoy acts as your secure gateway for Travel Rule messaging, ensuring compliance with FATF Recommendation 16. Before you begin, ensure you have completed your VASP registration and have your API credentials ready if you plan to automate your workflow.

1. Accessing the Platform

Access is managed directly by the Blockpass team.

  • Credentials: Blockpass will manually create your account and share your initial login credentials securely.
  • Initial Login: Navigate to blockpass.tr-envoy.com and use your temporary password.
  • Security First: Change your password immediately at Account Profile.

2. Create Customer Accounts

The Customer Accounts section lets you add and manage details for all Originators who send crypto to other exchanges, as well as Beneficiaries who receive crypto into their accounts from external exchanges.

  • Go to Customer Accounts and click Create Account.
  • Enter the required KYC details and click Create.
  • Pro Tip (IVMS101): Once an account is created, add an IVMS101 record. This allows Envoy to automatically map identity data to specific wallet addresses, saving you time during future transfers.

3. Identify the Counterparty VASP

Check the Counterparty VASPs section to confirm the receiving exchange is a verified member of the network.

  • TRISA GDS Tab: Search for the VASP by name. If they appear here, Envoy handles the encryption "handshake" automatically.
  • Daybreak Tab: If the VASP is not in the Global Directory Service (GDS), check the Daybreak directory.
  • Manual Entry: If the VASP is missing from both, use the Add Counterparty button to input their details manually.

4. Initiate the Transfer (Transfer Inbox)

From the Transfer Inbox, you can choose between three primary protocols depending on the recipient’s capabilities.

Option 1: Send a TRISA Transfer (native protocol)

TRISA is the native protocol for Envoy, providing peer-to-peer, encrypted messaging. Use this for major exchanges found in the GDS.

  1. Click Send New Transfer > Send TRISA Transfer.
  2. Select the Counterparty VASP from the dropdown.
  3. Enter the Originator Wallet Address. Envoy will attempt to auto-link this to your "Customer Accounts" list to pull identity data.
  4. Input the Beneficiary Wallet Address, Amount, and Network (e.g., BTC, ETH).
  5. Review: Click Preview Message, verify the data, and click Send.

Option 2: Send a TRP Transfer (REST-based)

The Travel Rule Protocol (TRP) is often used when a recipient provides a specific "Travel Address" (a URL).

  1. Click Send New Transfer > Send TRP Transfer.
  2. Enter the Originator Wallet Address. Envoy will attempt to auto-link this to your "Customer Accounts" list to pull identity data.
  3. Enter the Counterparty Travel Address (the URL provided by the receiving exchange).
  4. Input the remaining transaction details (Beneficiary Address, Amount, Network).
  5. Review: Click Preview Message and Send.

Option 3: Send a Sunrise Email (email fallback)

If the counterparty does not support TRISA or TRP, use "Sunrise" to send a secure compliance email to their team.

  1. Click Send New Transfer > Send Sunrise Email.
  2. Enter the Counterparty Name and the Compliance Email Address of the receiving VASP.
  3. Enter the Originator Wallet Address. Envoy will attempt to auto-link this to your "Customer Accounts" list to pull identity data.
  4. Input the remaining transaction details (Beneficiary Address, Amount, Network).
  5. Review: Click Preview Message and Send.

5. Monitoring Your Compliance

[!IMPORTANT] Compliance is a two-way street. Ensure you monitor your Transfer Inbox daily for:

  • Incoming Messages: Review data sent by other VASPs for crypto arriving at your exchange.
  • Transfer Status: Track whether your sent messages have been Accepted, Rejected, or Pending by the counterparty.
